PET Adhesive Labels, Clear or Matte Silver

PET is polyester film, and the difference from paper stock is physical: it does not tear, edges do not fuzz, it absorbs no moisture and does not swell with humidity. Where labels get wiped with alcohol, soaked in oil, or left outdoors for months, paper gives out long before PET does.

A resin ribbon is mandatory

PET is smooth with low surface energy. Wax and mixed-base ribbons sit on top and scrape off, so only resin forms a bonded ink layer. There is no shortcut here: specify PET and plan for resin ribbon at the same time.

Clear silver, matte silver or white

Clear silver shows the substrate through the film, so on metal, glass and plastic housings the label edge almost disappears; it is the usual pick for components and asset plates. Matte silver kills reflections for stable scanning, and bright white gives richer printed colour for branded nameplates.

Prep the surface first

Low surface energy means ordinary adhesive struggles and corners lift. Specify a high-tack adhesive, wipe oil and release agent off the substrate, then press firmly. On tight curves skip PET and use soft PE film instead.
